• Legos – LEGO® Education WeDo™ Robotics is a solution that introduces young students to robotics. Students build simple machines featuring working motors and sensors. They program their models by using special WeDo Software. The LEGO® Education WeDo™ Robotics class will allows students to explore four different themes – Amazing Mechanisms, Wild Animals, Play Soccer, and Adventure Stories – while meeting a broad range of curriculum standards.

• Legos – Simple and Motorized Mechanisms Set – Students will build and explore machines and mechanisms, investigate motorized machines, calibrate and capture wind, and study gearing mechanisms with this class. The students will investigate the principles of simple machines, mechanisms and structures; experiment with balanced and unbalanced forces and friction; measure distance, time, speed, and weight; and much more.

Excellent home school programs recommend 170-180 teaching days. The parent handbook gives recommended daily hours for the different grade levels. The home school calendar is usually mid-August thru May with vacations taken at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Some homes school families home school year round taking an extended break for Christmas and summer vacation.

The Jackson Classical Calendar provides an opportunity for the family to train students in their at-home schedule before adding the two days of classes on Wednesday and Friday. The scheduled breaks and holidays allow parents to maintain control of their schedules and schedule family breaks for travel or visits with family.
