TENTATIVE Calendar 2010-11
Excellent home school programs recommend 170-180 teaching days. The parent handbook gives recommended daily hours for the different grade levels. The home school calendar is usually mid-August thru May with vacations taken at Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. Some homes school families home school year round taking an extended break for Christmas and summer vacation.
The Jackson Classical Calendar provides an opportunity for the family to train students in their at-home schedule before adding the two days of classes on Wednesday and Friday. The scheduled breaks and holidays allow parents to maintain control of their schedules and schedule family breaks for travel or visits with family.
